Abu Dhabi Turns One Summer Offer Into an OOH Conversion Machine

Summer in Abu Dhabi just got a lot more generous for kids, and the capital isn't just saying so. It's staging it, on a hoarding built for exactly that purpose.

Following "Fill Your Staycation with Abu Dhabi’s Dos," Experience Abu Dhabi has handed an entire hoarding over to one promise: Kids Go Free. Destination marketing lives or dies on a single idea: experience, and this hoarding delivers it without wasting a word on anything else.

Kids Go Free isn't a one-hoarding idea, either. It's the flagship offer inside a citywide rollout, My Summer #InAbuDhabi, which brings together more than a hundred experiences and special offers across hospitality, dining, retail, attractions, culture, and wellness, with forty hotels letting children twelve and under stay free alongside paying adults, plus free museum entry for kids on top. Scale like that doesn't sell itself at 100 km/h, though; a single, specific promise does. So this hoarding picks two.

The creative opens with "My Summer #InAbuDhabi," set in a yellow bright enough to match the season overhead, beside a CTA that skips the small talk: "Discover Abu Dhabi's Summer Offers," pointed straight at the website. No "learn more," no soft landing, just a direct line from board to booking.

Split across two panels, the hoarding repeats that promise twice, each side shaped for a different kind of family day. On one, Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi opens its 13.8-billion-year journey through natural history, dinosaur skeleton Stan the T. rex included, to kids at no charge; under-18s already get in free there, campaign or not. On the other hand, Yas Island's WB™ hotel, the first Warner Bros.-themed property anywhere in the world, extends free stays to children traveling with paying adults. A museum and a hotel, two different businesses, one masterbrand, one offer parents don't need to squint at fine print to understand.

Mass awareness was the brief. Warmth was the delivery method. Families move through both scenes on the hoarding: pool days, gallery floors, streets built for wandering, selling not a discount, but a version of summer worth rearranging plans for.

The placement is where the strategy sharpens. This hoarding sits on Sheikh Zayed Road, the road that carries more daily traffic than any other in Dubai, running from the heart of the city out to the Abu Dhabi border, the exact route Dubai's own families take while summer plans are still up for grabs. We've seen Abu Dhabi run this play before: a Visit Abu Dhabi hoarding used this same Dubai advertising arena back in 2024 to push its "101 Abu Dhabi Do's," and the destination has kept returning to Dubai's boards since. This time the message lands sharper: two named venues instead of a highlight reel, and a CTA built to convert rather than just impress. That's what stops this hoarding from behaving like traditional OOH. It starts closing its own funnel- awareness and action, on the same board.
